Join Janet and me (Frank Mandarano) in November for 10 days on the second South American Car Guy adventure. Ladies are welcome and encouraged to join us and will find Argentina a shopping and cultural gold mine including Tango dancing, Polo and incredible street fairs. The agenda will start off in Buenos Aires (BA) and include several days in and around Buenos Aires and then off to Parana. The Modena of Argentina.
While in BA we will visit several fantastic automotive classic restoration and reproduction companies. I've been there and can assure you will be blown away!! We will visit the Antique Market district as well as other great sights in BA.
Time permiting we will visit the great Fanjo Museum in Balcarce, 215 miles south of BA. You will want to come back again and again, perhaps even plan to winter there. Due to the strength of the Dollar this is an excellent buying opportunity. I can sum up Argentina in 5 words: People - Exchange Rate - Climate and Culture. First the people are really fantastic and friendly toward Americans. The population is primarily European, made up of 30% of Italian decent 30% of Spanish decent 10% French 10% German 5% Jewish and the rest mixed.
The exchange rate is currently 1 USD = 3.7 Argentine Pesos. You can take a taxi just about anywhere in BA for under 3 USD. A white table cloth steak dinner with desert at a nice resturant including wine is $12 to $15. The climate in Nov will be Spring time and warm - expect mid to high 70's. The culture includes street fairs, Theaters, Tango shows and outside cafes and bars packed with people from all over the world. Think Paris or Barcelona. Oh and no political correctness. Smoking cigars in outside cafes, accepted and normal.
